New Porsche Cayenne Electric delivers 850kw power and 2.5s acceleration

STUTTGART, November 19, 2025: Porsche has introduced the first fully electric version of its flagship SUV, the Cayenne, marking a pivotal moment in the brand’s electrification program. The new Cayenne Electric delivers up to 850 kW, equivalent to 1,156 PS, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and offering a range of up to 642 kilometers on a single charge. The model represents the most powerful production Porsche to date and a major milestone in the company’s electric transformation. The Cayenne, first launched in 2002, became a cornerstone in Porsche’s global success, bringing sports car performance into the SUV category. More than two decades later, the new all-electric Cayenne builds on that foundation with next-generation battery technology, high-performance electric motors, and refined chassis systems.

Porsche executives described the model as the culmination of technologies developed through its motorsport experience, now applied to large-scale production vehicles. Two variants will be available initially: the new Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Turbo Electric. Both models feature all-wheel drive and Porsche’s electronic traction management system. The Cayenne Turbo Electric develops up to 850 kW and 1,500 Nm of torque when Launch Control is activated, reaching a top speed of 260 km/h. In standard driving mode, the vehicle produces 630 kW, with a short-term 130 kW boost available through a Push-to-Pass function. The standard Cayenne Electric delivers 300 kW and accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 230 km/h. Energy efficiency plays a central role in the vehicle’s design.

The Cayenne Electric achieves up to 600 kW of regenerative braking, enabling most braking operations to be managed by the electric motors. A new 113 kWh high-voltage battery uses double-sided cooling to optimize performance, providing a WLTP range of 642 kilometers for the base model and 623 kilometers for the Turbo. Its 800-volt system supports DC fast charging at up to 400 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes. Porsche also offers optional inductive wireless charging at up to 11 kW. The electric Cayenne introduces a reengineered chassis featuring adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard. The Turbo model adds Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and optional rear-axle steering for greater agility.

    High-performance engineering meets zero-emission design

For the first time in the Cayenne range, Porsche Active Ride technology is available, providing enhanced ride stability and comfort across various driving conditions. Exterior styling has been refined with aerodynamic and structural updates while preserving Porsche’s recognizable design language. The electric Cayenne achieves a drag coefficient of 0.25, placing it among the most aerodynamic SUVs in its class. The design incorporates frameless doors, slim LED headlamps, a sculpted roofline, and a full-width 3D-effect rear light bar. The Off-Road package adds improved approach angles and protection for rough terrain. Inside, the new Cayenne Electric debuts Porsche’s new Driver Experience system with the largest display area ever fitted in a Porsche. The cockpit includes a curved OLED central display, a fully digital 14.25-inch instrument cluster, and an optional 14.9-inch passenger screen.

    Porsche confirms continued multi-powertrain strategy

An augmented reality head-up display projects key driving data in the driver’s field of view. The system integrates artificial intelligence for natural language voice commands and allows smartphones or smartwatches to function as digital keys. The model’s dimensions have increased, with a length of 4,985 millimeters and a wheelbase of 3,023 millimeters, offering greater interior space. Cargo capacity ranges from 781 to 1,588 liters, complemented by a 90-liter front trunk. The cabin includes ambient lighting, adjustable mood settings, and a panoramic roof with variable transparency. Customers can personalize their vehicles through extensive color, wheel, and interior options, supported by Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur and Sonderwunsch programs.

Porsche confirmed that the new Cayenne Electric will be sold alongside combustion and hybrid variants beyond 2030. The model is available for order globally, reinforcing the company’s strategy of offering multiple powertrain options across its vehicle lineup. This approach allows Porsche to cater to diverse regional markets and regulatory environments while maintaining its hallmark performance standards. The company continues to invest heavily in electrification, production efficiency, and infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition for its customers worldwide. – By EuroWire News Desk.
